Victoria Falls Day Trip Overview

Your day will start at 08:00 with a road transfer from your hotel in Kasane to Victoria Falls. This transfer will take about 1,5 hours. When you arrive in Victoria Falls you will enjoy a guided tour of one of the Seven Wonders of The World.

Explore the unique rain forest feasting your eyes on magnificent plant and bird life, whilst taking in the grandeur that is the Victoria Falls. You will be guided through the rain forest and stop at the different view points along the way. You will find yourself in awe as you witness the sheer magnitude of the Victoria Falls. This truly is an inspiring experience.

The Victoria Falls will be in full flood between April and August. Be sure to wear a raincoat during these months as you will get soaked from the spray of the Falls.

After you have viewed the Victoria Falls, enjoy a three course lunch at the Rainforest Cafe.

After lunch you will visit the local craft market before returning to Kasane.

A full-day Victoria Falls day trip from Chobe/Kasane includes:

  •  Return transfers to Victoria Falls from your hotel or lodge in Kasane via the Kazangula border with Zimbabwe
    •  It is very important to provide accurate details of your accommodation location, and particularly if you are at a b&b or small lodge, provide a name of the b&b and a street address.
  • A guided walking tour of Victoria Falls through the rainforest, taking in the spectacular views from the various viewpoints.
  • Lunch at the Rainforest Cafe.
  •  Optional visit to the local craft market, or you may wish to opt for additional activities such as a helicopter flight or perhaps one of the bridge activities like a bungee jump or bridge slide. (Optional extra activities are not included in the price.)
  • After all your activities at approximately 15:00 pm you leave for your journey back to Kasane and drop off at your lodge at +/- 17h00 pm.

The paths through the rainforest to all the viewing points cover about 2.5 kilometres. Whilst there are a few steps, the paths are generally flat, and you can take a leisurely walk throughout the tour; there is no major fitness requirements. Comfortable walking shoes are essential, and you will get wet, so a poncho or raincoat is advisable. (Raincoats are available for hire at the gate, but most of the operators provide these.)

Absolutely, family members of all ages should experience the mighty Victoria Falls, and children between 3 and 11 years generally pay 50% of the price. Infants under 3 years old are free of charge. The tour is safe, but children should be closely supervised to ensure they dont wander off the demarcated paths.

To enter and view Victoria Falls, there is a National Parks entry fee of US$50 pp for international guests.

Children pay 50%

It is optional for you to pay this yourself on entry to the rainforest, either with a bank card or cash; however, it is advisable to ask your agent to charge you upfront and pre-pay this on your behalf to save the hassle of the queue and payment process on entry.

It is essential to bring your passports.

  • If you have children and have already entered Botswana you would have already provided birth certificates, bring them with you for reentry to Botswana.
  •  Comfortable walking shoes, with light, quick-dry clothes.
  • Sun protection, Hat, Sunglasses and sunscreen.
  • Camera, binoculars
  • Waterproof bag to keep your electronics and travel documents.
  • Whilst you can pay entry fees with a card, the card machine sometimes doesn’t work, so it’s always a good idea to have cash in US dollars and some small denominations for minor purchases and gratuities.
  •  Bring a warm jacket or jersey; early mornings and late afternoons can be a bit chilly.

Absolutely, you can upgrade to the Gold Package, which then includes a 13-minute Flight of the Angels helicopter flight over Victoria Falls or one of the bridge activities, such as a bungee jump, bridge swing or bridge slide.

  • Please speak to your agent to discuss which other activities are feasible in the time period available.
  •  Additional activities are not included in this price.

Yes, this is very important, as this is a cross-border activity between 2 countries; the operator needs to arrange the correct size transfer vehicles to suit numbers and arrange pickups at your lodge etc. Pre-booking will ensure your place, a table at the lookout cafe, and beating the crowds in the queues.
