Victoria Falls Bridge Swing Overview

Bridge Swing over the Zambezi River

The Victoria Falls Bridge Swing is an 80-meter freefall. Step off the Victoria Falls Bridge into the Batoka Gorge on and over the mighty Zambezi River. You will step off the Victoria Falls Bridge in an upright position for an 80-metre freefall. As you approach the Zambezi River you will then become a human pendulum as you swing in a huge arc with the cascading waterfall rumbling by your side. If you do not want to step into the void alone, take a partner with you and scream together as the rush of adrenalin surges through your body. The Swing provides a bonus chance to absorb the beautiful scenery of the Batoka Gorge while you slowly get winched back to the platform.

You can choose to step off the bridge forwards, backwards and tandem.

If you would prefer to jump off the Victoria Falls Bridge why don’t you try the Victoria Falls Bungee Jump. Alternatively, for the timider, the bridge slide is a mildly adventurous zipline which can be done alone, or with a friend. You slide across the Batoka Gorge from the Zambian side and land up on the Victoria Falls Bridge. This slide provides spectacular views of the Victoria Falls in high water season. Exciting yet friendly the bridge slide is for all ages starting from 6 years and up.

Victoria Falls Bridge Swing Safety Standards

During your bridge swing safety is the number 1 concern and you have nothing to worry about. The detailed set of operational manuals, including a safety management systems manual, a standard operating procedures manual, emergency response plan manual, cord building manual and the quality management systems manual ensures that no stone is left unturned.

FAQ's

Victoria Falls Bridge Swing

The Bridge Swing is one of Victoria Falls’ most thrilling adventure activities, a breathtaking freefall and pendulum swing from the historic Victoria Falls Bridge, which connects Zimbabwe and Zambia. You’ll leap from a platform 111 metres above the Zambezi River and experience several seconds of pure adrenaline before swinging smoothly through the Batoka Gorge.

All three happen from the same bridge, but each offers a unique rush. The Bridge Swing gives you a longer freefall followed by an enormous arc through the gorge. The Bungee Jump is a straight head-first dive toward the river, while the Bridge Slide is a fast, smooth zipline across the gorge. Many thrill-seekers try all three for the full Victoria Falls adventure experience.

You’ll jump from 111 metres (364 feet) above the Zambezi River — the same height as the world-famous Victoria Falls Bungee Jump. The swing cable extends below the bridge, creating a huge pendulum motion that sweeps you through the gorge.

Absolutely. The activity is operated by experienced professionals using top-grade equipment and internationally certified harness systems. Each setup is double-checked before every jump, and all guides are trained in safety and rescue procedures.

All three take place from the same historic bridge, but offer very different thrills! The Bridge Slide is smooth and scenic, the Bridge Swing is a freefall and pendulum-style drop, and the Bungee Jump is the ultimate adrenaline rush straight toward the river. Many visitors try all three, with the Big Air Combo.

No,you don’t need a full visa. The activity happens in the “no man’s land” between Zimbabwe and Zambia. Depending if you are coming from Zambia or Zimbabwe you do need to have your passport with you, but you’ll simply pass through the Zimbabwean border post, get a Bridge Pass, and return after your swing, no extra visa or stamping required in your passport.

Comfortable clothing and closed shoes are best. Avoid skirts or dresses, and make sure pockets are zipped. Loose items like hats, jewelry or sunglasses should be left behind to avoid losing them during the jump.

The whole activity takes around 45 minutes to an hour, including safety briefing, gear fitting, and the actual swing.

No, guests need to make their own way to the Victoria Falls Bridge and be there approximately 30 minutes before your scheduled jump time. As you need to get a day pass at the border post, leave yourself enough time to do this. The bridge is approximately 700 metres from the Zimbabwe border post. (dont forget your passport)

It is not advisable to have hand held cameras or smart phones, but you can bring a GoPro if it’s securely attached, but the operators also offer professional photo and video packages so you can relive your Bridge Swing moment and share it on social media. (The photo and videos are an additional price)
