The tour lasts around 2 hours including return hotel transfers.
How much does the tour of Victoria Falls cost?
The price of a guided tour of Victoria Falls is US$30 pp, children U12 are US$15 pp. This excludes the Rainforest entry fee.
Entry fees to the Victoria Falls Rainforest vary depending on your nationality:
International visitors: USD $50 per person
SADC (Southern African Development Community) residents: USD $30 per person
Zimbabwean citizens: USD $7 per person
Children U12 pay 50% of these fees.
These fees are payable at the park entrance and are not included in most tour prices. It’s recommended to carry cash in USD, although some locations may accept cards. Proof of residency or citizenship (passport or national ID) is required to qualify for the SADC or Zimbabwean rates.
What is the best time of year to visit Victoria Falls?
Victoria Falls is an all-year-round destination; however, the experience does change with the seasons.
High Water Season (February – June): The falls are at their most powerful, creating a dramatic curtain of water and mist. Depending on wind direction, sometimes the mist can be very dense and block the view, but it is its most dramatic when the flow of water is at its peak.
Low Water Season (July – January): The visibility is clearer, making it easier to see the rock formations and the immense depth of the gorge, and with a good quantity of water still flowing, you get the best of both worlds in terms of the view.
What should I wear and bring on the tour?
It is advisable to wear comfortable, non-slip walking shoes and light, casual clothing. During the high water season, a waterproof jacket or poncho is advisable due to the spray from the falls. Don’t forget sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and a camera with a waterproof cover.
Is the tour of Victoria Falls suitable for children and seniors?
Yes, the guided tour is suitable for all ages. Children under 3 years old enter free of charge, and those aged 3 to 11 pay 50% of the adult rate.
Are there any health or fitness requirements for the Victoria Falls tour?
The distance walked is totally optional; however, to get the full experience, guests should be prepared to walk up to 2 km. The tour involves walking along trails that are generally moderate in steepness, with some steep sections that may require extra caution. Generally all levels of fitness can be catered for, and arrangements can be made for guests in a wheelchair.
Can I bring my own food and drinks for the tour of Victoria Falls?
You are perfectly welcome to take your own refreshments, but most tours do include bottled water. There is also a restaurant in the rainforest that serves a gooud variety of food and drinks.

Yes, taking photographs is encouraged; this is one of the most amazing sights in the world, and you will want to take all the pictures you can to capture the memories. It is advised to bring a waterproof cover for your camera as well as your other valuables and documents.

If you are staying in Victoria Falls Zimbabwe, then you would have already entered the country, and you would have no need for another visa to view the Victoria Falls.
If you are staying in Livingstone and want to view Victoria Falls from the Zimbabwe side, then depending on your nationality you may need a visa to enter Zimbabwe. Most nationalities can get a visa at the border post.
