FAQ's
Can this all be done in one day?
No, this needs to be experienced over 2 full days. The Chobe experience takes between 7 – 8 hours in total; the game drive in the morning is 3 to 4 hours with transfers, a midday break, and the cruise is similarly is 3 to 4 hours in the evening with transfers.
The day tour to Victoria Falls is about 10 hours, with pick-up early morning and return in the evening
The suggested schedule is the Chobe game drive and sunset cruise on day 1, and the Victoria Falls day tour on day 2.
What time does the Chobe day tours start and end?
The start time varies by about 30 minutes from summer to winter months, the tour starts at between 6am and 6:30am, and the day finishes at approximately 18h30pm.
What time does Victoria Falls day trip start and end?
Pick-up from Kasane hotels and lodges is at +/- 08h00 am and you will be dropped back at your Kasane lodge by approximately 17h30 pm.
Is lunch included in the price of either day tours?
lunch is excluded on the Chobe portion, there is a break in time between the drive and the cruise for you to return to your lodge or a local restaurant for lunch.
Lunch is included in the Victoria Falls day tour and is enjoyed at the Rainforest Cafe after the tour of Victoria Falls.
Do I need to pay park entry fees for both parks?
The National Parks Fees for Chobe are on a per person, per day basis, so if you do both activities on the same day you will only pay one fee.
The National Parks fee for the Victoria Falls Rainforest is US$50 per person payable at the entry to Victoria Falls Rainforest.
Parks fees can be paid with either credit cards or cash. It is always advisable to have cash in US$ as sometimes the credit card machines at the border posts are out of order.
Is the activity family friendly?
Yes, children are welcome on both activities in Chobe and in Victoria Falls; however, as these are usually shared activities, we request that parents supervise young children. Children are usually charged 50% of the listed price, and depending on their age, the parks fees also vary, check with your agent for these details.
What animals should I expect to see?
Chobe is famous for its elephant population, and you have a great chance to see buffalo, lions, hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, sable antelope, and over 450 bird species. Sightings can vary by season.
On the road trip to Victoria Falls ypu drive through the Zambezi National Park, and often see elephant, buffalo and other wildlife.
Is the activity weather dependant, what happens if it rains?
The Chobe activities operate in most weather conditions, and in the case of rain, the game vehicles and boats do have roll-down blinds, or ponchos may be provided. Likewise, the tour of Victoria Falls occurs during rain spells. However, in the case where extreme weather conditions cause the cancellation of any activity, we will reschedule, or if that’s not possible, you will be refunded.
Do I need a Visa to enter Zimababwe?
This will depend on what passport you are travelling on. Many nationalities do require a visa to enter Zimbabwe, and these mostly can be obtained at the border post. You need to check with your agent if you need a visa and if this can be obtained at the border or if you need to apply for the visa in advance.
Are transfers from my lodge or hotel included?
Yes, return transfers are included from hotels and lodges in Kasane for the Chobe activities as well as the Victoria Falls Day Tour.
What should I wear and bring for the activities?
For both days, wear comfortable clothing and closed shoes and dress according to the weather; it can get chilly on winter days but also warm up, so layered clothing is recommended.
Bring sunscreen, a hat, binoculars and a camera to capture those memories. Insect repellent is recommended.
For the Victoria Falls trip, it is essential to bring your passport, a waterproof bag, a raincoat or poncho, and a warm layer of clothing
